Japan in our Thoughts

This is just a blog written by a simple baker – one who feels a bit under-qualified to speak about the disasters – a powerful earthquake, tsunami and nuclear threat in Japan. And yet, how can I just continue writing about baking cookies or cakes when there are so many people suffering?

Two million people in Japan have no water or electricity and are surviving on very little food. There has been no looting in Japan and no rioting. The people have been cooperating in conserving electricity and have been patiently standing in line to receive a share of what food there is. No one yet has a definitive number of lives lost and the reality is that their situation could get profoundly worse.

Please join me in focusing all of our positive thoughts and prayers on those affected by these disasters.
